What is the best way to learn?

In an increasingly digitalised world, the protection of sensitive data and information systems is becoming ever more important. However, despite the growing awareness of cyber security, many companies often rely exclusively on traditional training models that bring their employees together physically in training rooms.

On-site training has its advantages, but sometimes in-house training or the online version is more suitable.

We recommend that you think individually about what you want from further education and choose accordingly. Here is a little decision-making aid:On-site training
On-site training is the classic option in continuing education and there are many occasions when this is the best choice. For example, when an exchange with lecturers or networking in a new environment – outside the so-called comfort zone – is desired. Group work can also lead to more intensive dialogue on site. Snacks and drinks are provided by premium providers such as CIS, and documents and infrastructure are also organised by the provider. Once you are on site, you can concentrate on learning and networking.

Inhouse training

For special and customised training courses such as in-house training, it can also make sense to invite the trainers into the company and thus combine both worlds. One of the most effective training methods is learning directly in the company, together with colleagues and managers, using current examples from your own industry. The public CIS training courses can all be booked 1:1 as in-house training. This offers cost advantages, especially for large companies, as there are no travel costs, costs for external premises, catering and similar. Individual course modules can also be booked as in-house training so that all training programmes can be delivered directly to you.

Online courses

Face-to-face courses take employees out of their day-to-day business and modern learning methods such as gamification or storytelling are often neglected. The content of an online course can be accessed from anywhere. This eliminates travel and accommodation costs, which could also be invested directly in the training itself. Participants can decide for themselves whether they prefer to learn in familiar surroundings at home, in a café or at work, thereby positively influencing their learning success. In addition, an online course often offers interactive elements and practical case studies that make learning both interesting and practical.

Certificate, accreditation & Co.

Sometimes it’s not the type of learning that matters, but the framework conditions. With certain courses, you only want to get a brief overview or perhaps get a taste of a topic. However, if you are looking for in-depth training that will also boost your career, it may be advisable to look for accreditation and a qualification with an exam and certificate. Due to accreditation, CIS personal certificates for examinations are considered state and officially recognised documents with an international reputation.
