Integrated management systems combine topics such as information security, IT service management, quality or environmental management into a standardised overall system. Overarching strategy development or planning processes can be designed much more efficiently in this way and a continuous improvement in company quality is ensured. In practice, ISO 9001 for quality management often serves as the foundation for integrated overall systems, as this international standard is the most broadly orientated in terms of content. In principle, this can apply to any standard based on Annex SL, where comparable structures with the same points and requirements can be found.
The Annex SL (also known as Annex L) describes a standard for ISO management systems. Almost all management systems today follow this standard; they have comparable structures and the same requirements in many respects:

– Maintenance and operation of the systems
Such a basic management system can be gradually expanded to include additional components such as information security (ISO 27001), data protection (ISO 27701) or IT service management (ISO 20000) and business continuity (ISO 22301).
