Overview
The new NIS 2 Directive presents organisations with far-reaching challenges in the areas of cybersecurity, governance and compliance. This seminar covers the key fundamentals of NIS 2 and provides practical guidance on how organisations can implement the requirements efficiently and sustainably.
The ENISA (European Union Agency for Cybersecurity) is the EU’s central agency supporting Member States and organisations in tackling cyber threats. In the context of the NIS 2 Directive, ENISA plays a key role: it develops technical guidelines, promotes intergovernmental cooperation and provides risk analyses and recommendations on the implementation of the new security requirements.
Contents
The focus is on the key measures of NIS-2, ENISA’s risk management approach and the key obligations for ‘critical’ and ‘important’ entities. Participants will gain a clearly structured overview of:
- the regulatory requirements and implementation deadlines
- risk management and security measures in line with ENISA best practices
- incident reporting, liability and governance requirements
- practical steps to prepare for audits and inspections
Target audience
This seminar is aimed at managers, IT managers, compliance officers and organisations wishing to prepare for the requirements of the NIS 2 Directive in a concise and accessible manner.

Speaker
Mag. Manfred Spanner, MSc. is Head of the Group Data Protection Office at OMV Aktiengesellschaft and, in his role as Data Protection Officer, is responsible, amongst other things, for ensuring compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation. Prior to this, he served as Group Chief Information Security Officer (Group CISO) for the ÖBB Group, where he was responsible for information security; in this role, he successfully implemented the information security strategy and, in light of the introduction of the NIS Act, organised and carried out the initial preparations. In addition, he lectures at St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences, amongst other institutions, is the author of several specialist books and holds multiple certifications (CISA, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001, etc.).
