The ISO 27701 standard serves to demonstrate compliance with data protection regulations and represents an extension of the well-known ISO 27001. The advantages of certification in the area of data protection for companies and organizations include the fact that the standard offers a systemically clear management tool and control system for all data protection issues that need to be managed and for the handling of sensitive and personal data. The risk-based approach can also detect and specifically prevent any potential areas of liability at an early stage.

As one of the first internationally accredited certification organizations, CIS offers the certificate for data protection management according to ISO 27701.
