CIS joins the Austrian Data Centre Association (ADCA)

The Austrian Data Center Association (ADCA) is a non-profit association that represents the interests of Austrian data centre operators.

Founded in 2023, the association provides a platform for all stakeholders in the field of data centre infrastructure and operations. One focus is on the topics of sustainability and security.

Advantages for CIS customers

CIS's membership of the ADCA network enables customers - in addition to the benefits of CIS's EN 50600 accreditation - to stay up to date with the latest developments in data centres. Through professional exchange, we ensure practical audit models that can be applied to different types of data centre designs and changing external influences, such as new specifications, guidelines and regulations for data centre operators.

Peter Wörgötter, CIS expert for EN 50600, emphasises: "As the first accredited testing body for EN 50600 certifications, we are pleased to be able to make a valuable contribution to ADCA with our expertise and thus strengthen Austria as a data centre location. At the same time, membership also offers CIS the opportunity to keep its finger on the pulse of the latest information from the data centre industry in Austria in order to ensure the practical suitability of the generic EN 50600 audit models for CIS customers," says Peter Wörgötter, CIS expert for EN 50600.

New energy for Austrian data centres

Data centres are at the heart of digitalisation and are indispensable for numerous industries, including financial service providers, construction companies, telecommunications providers and companies with remote working models. The ADCA is committed to emphasising the importance of professional data centres to the public and politicians. At the same time, it strives to strengthen the economic and legal position of its members and to promote Austria as a location for the development and presence of data centres. It also promotes the exchange of experience and information by developing and harmonising the common interests of all members.

CIS involvement in the European standardisation committee

CIS is also actively involved in the European standardisation committee of CENELEC TC 215/WG 3 Facilities and Infrastructures, which is responsible for the further development of EN 50600. At national level, CIS is also represented on the relevant Austrian standardisation committee of the OVE (Austrian Electrotechnical Association). This ensures that our customers are always informed about the latest developments.
