World's first standard for AI

ISO 42001 – the new standard for artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is here to stay. Regardless of whether you are already using AI or whether your company will be using it in the coming years: AI is a topic that companies will no longer be able to avoid if they want to remain competitive.

ISO 42001 is the world's first standard for AI management systems and provides valuable guidance for this rapidly changing field of technology. It specifies requirements for the establishment, implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of an AI management system in organizations, especially for companies that provide or use AI-based products or services. In doing so, ISO 42001 ensures the responsible development and use of AI systems. The standard addresses the unique challenges posed by AI, such as ethical considerations, transparency and continuous learning, and sets out a structured approach to managing the risks and opportunities associated with AI.

Stay competitive: Companies with existing management systems in the technology sector, such as ISO/IEC 27001 for information security or ISO/IEC 27701 for data protection, should look at the international standard for Artificial Intelligence - ISO/IEC 42001 - sooner rather than later.

Your advantages

ISO/IEC 42001 certification serves as tangible evidence of an organization's clear commitment to responsible AI practices:

  • Ensure ethical development and use of AI systems
  • Benefit from robust governance structures
  • Strengthen your AI-related risk management
  • Take care of compliance with constantly changing AI compliance requirements
  • Benefit from integration into existing management structures
  • Send a signal of responsibility to your customers and partners
  • and stay one step ahead of the competition

If you are looking for an approach to AI management that can best be integrated with existing management structures, ISO/IEC 42001 is a good framework for the strategic management of various AI-related topics.
